<\/p>\nThe sibling DNA test certifies whether two people are half-siblings, half-siblings or if there is no biological relationship between them.<\/p>\n
Carried out in cases where a direct comparison with the putative parents is not possible, the sibling DNA test can be used as an alternative and can answer the question of paternity\/maternity.<\/p>\n
This test is more complex than the paternity\/maternity test as there is no direct transmission – inheritance of DNA between the two siblings.<\/p>\n
In cases where greater accuracy of the result is required, parallel testing of one parent or other children of the parent under test is desirable.<\/p>\n

The two individuals suspected of being siblings must provide a sample of genetic material through a simple procedure. The results of the laboratory test are delivered in approximately 7 days from the day the sample is taken.<\/p>\n
The analyses include the study of 24 to 44 genetic markers (STRs). In addition, 27 Y chromosome genetic markers can be studied to identify the common paternal lineage, mitochondrial DNA polymorphisms to identify the common maternal lineage, and the analysis of 12 X-STR genetic markers to enhance the accuracy of the result.<\/p>\n
The analysis and interpretation of the results is performed by 2 expert experts of the laboratory , who sign the final expert report containing the laboratory results and analytical conclusions.<\/p>\n
